Everything you need to know before your chat with Tiffany

1. DRESS FOR THE CAMERA

SOME TIPS FOR CAMERA OUTFITTING:

  • Neutral colors, pastels, and cool blues/greens flatter most computer cameras.
  • Avoid very bright or very dark colors (including black); they don’t translate well.
  • Don’t match your skin tone or your background color.
  • Skip busy patterns (herringbone, stripes, animal prints, plaids).
  • Keep jewelry simple—avoid shiny or noisy pieces.
  • Choose what makes you feel comfortable and confident.

2. USE MAKEUP TO BRIGHTEN AND ACCENTUATE

ZOOM CAMERA MAKEUP TIPS:

  • Go light on eye makeup—heavy looks can vanish or appear too dark on camera.
  • A touch of mascara is usually enough; lipstick reads beautifully on camera.
  • Use concealer to add dimension and hide dark circles; soft blush prevents washout.

3. PICK A SPACIOUS ROOM

A roomy setting gives you depth behind you (more flattering on a 2D screen) and usually better acoustics. Living rooms often have the best natural light, too—so you’ll look brighter and sound clearer.

  • Choose the largest room available with some depth in the background.
  • Prioritize natural light or a soft front light.
  • Quiet space = better audio and easier conversation.

4. TIDY UP THE ROOM

A clean background helps you look polished. Remove laundry, pet toys, bottles, or anything that steals attention. Keep a little personality, but minimize distractions.

  • Keep surfaces simple; avoid cluttered shelves.
  • Neutral décor reads best on camera.

5. SET UP YOUR LIGHTING

Face your biggest light source. Natural window light in front of you is ideal. Avoid strong light behind you which causes backlighting and shadows.

  • No ring light? Place a bright lamp behind your screen.
  • Soft, even light = smooth, flattering skin.

6. PUT YOUR CAMERA AT EYE-LEVEL

Angle matters. Raise your laptop on books so the lens meets your eyes. Pull back slightly so we see more than just your face and neck.

  • Straight-on beats “looking down” from below.

7. LOOK AT THE CAMERA

Keep your eyes on the lens when you speak—it feels like true eye contact. Glancing at yourself on-screen makes you look distracted and sounds less engaged.

  • If needed, move your preview window near the camera.

8. TEST THE VIDEO BEFORE THE CALL

Do a quick preview to check lighting, framing, and audio. Most platforms let you open a self-view—fix hair, adjust top, and confirm background looks great.

  • Plug in or charge devices; close noisy apps.

9. LOVE YOURSELF

Confidence is your best filter. Take a breath, relax your shoulders, and enjoy the conversation. When you feel good, you look stunning on camera.

  • Hydrate, smile, and have fun—your story helps others.
